Duration : 5 days

Trip style : Active

day 1 : CUSCO - MOLLEPATA - SAYAPATA – HUMANTAY LAKE - SORAYPAMPA (L)(D)
We will leave Cusco approximately at 5:00a.m. A bus will take us to the town of Mollepata (2900 meters above sea level) where we will arrive approximately at 7:30 in the morning, we will stop for last minute supplies, leg-stretching or to use the restrooms at a local restaurant. We will continue our journey to Sayapata, our trek starting point. We will meet with our support staff, who will load the equipment on horses and mules. Around 9:00 a.m., we will begin our hike toward Soraypampa (3850 meters above sea level).

Day 2 -. SORAYPAMPA

Chaullay The camp is something cold as it gets wind of the mountain glaciers. The sunrise will be awesome when we wake up the first thing you see will be the majestic Salkantay, at approximately 6:00 am we will have to enjoy breakfast and then continue the journey where we reach the highest point of the trek, the Salkantay to open 4650 m. About 3 to 4 hours where the magnitude of the mountain (6273 m.) Appreciates The decline is very peculiar, as being in step, mountain terrain, it descends to a totally green and abundant vegetation zone, being the boundary between the highlands and the jungle eyebrow eastern Peru. A show very unusual indeed. This day we will reach Challhuay (2900 m.)

day 3 : Lluscamayo - The Beach

After breakfast descend for another hour to the high forest (known as "eyebrow of the jungle"), enjoying the scenery that we provide a lot of natural beauty. Cross the river and as we walk to the left side of the river "Alto Salkantay" to "eyebrow of the jungle 'we can see orchids, bromeliads, typical vegetation of the area and also different kinds of birds, insects and butterflies. Compared with the previous day's trek, this is an easy walk as slowly descend for 3 hours until The Beach (2050 m). While we are losing altitude, see citrus trees, avocados, bananas and coffee plants. Walk 5 hours at an altitude of 1900 meters / 6232 feet).

Camping options: Remember that Salkantay is a popular route suffering from degradation and is currently unregulated. The third night camp offers several options on which you should talk to your guide. These options are related to the group's wishes and what he has planned to do the next day. La Playa is NOT a remote camp - for those who want to get away from the crowds should talk to your guide about the option of camping in Lucmabamba. Santa Teresa is not a remote camp and may be parties, but is a good location depending on your activities the next day. If you plan to do and Mono Colad then Cola de Mono has lovely camping options

day 4: HIDROELECTRICA

Here you have three options, depending on your interests and fitness. You should discuss each of them with your guide. You should also be aware that Salkantay is the second route frequented by many tourists in the region of Salkantay and inevitably this means that you will meet other people (not an experience in the "jungle").

Important Note: The following options are decided by "majority group" - if you a group of "trekkers are needed," then decisions will be made in the group as a briefing or on the road joins. An advantage of forming their own private group, we can say in advance which option to select.
•
Relaxation option. Take motorized transport to the camp on the outskirts of the village of Santa Teresa (not always a quiet camp) for hours you can visit the recently reopened hot springs in Colcamayu. UNFORTUNATELY Colcamayu hot springs were completely washed in the flood of January 2010 and are no longer an option for camping. Day 4 will transport to the impressive Machu Picchu Hydroelectric System where we have lunch and visit the Inca ruins. After this, walk for 2.5 hours more along the train tracks to get to Aguas Calientes.

•
Adventurous option. We left early and climb for about three hours through the jungle before descending to the interesting but largely covered ruins of Llactapacta.Do not let your guide will deter this!Yes, a rise of three hours, but it is also very interesting introduction to Machu Picchu!

DAY 05  AGUAS CALIENTES

Today, you will start early at around 4:30a.m. and walk up to Machu Picchu. In Machu Picchu, you will have a guided tour for about two hours and after that you will be free to explore the Citadel and take pictures, if you desire, walk up to the Sun Gate or ascent toward the Huaynapicchu Mountain. At 6:45p.m.
